More than 150 Catholic school sector staff took part in the Queensland Catholic Education Commision’s Student Protection Inservice Day on Friday 2 August.

The event, held in-person at UniSQ in Brisbane and online across Queensland, provided up-to-date and relevant information on student protection issues and approaches.

QCEC Executive Director Allan Blagaich said the Student Protection In-Service Day was an important annual event on the QCEC calendar.

“Student protection is an essential area of focus for Catholic schools in Queensland,’’ Mr Blagaich said.

“We had student protection staff from Catholic schools and school authorities across Queensland take part to learn more about school refusal, trauma-informed practice, and legislative change,” he said.
