A legacy that will remain

As we approach the start of the 2022 school year we are taking a look at some of the wonderful contributions made to our sector by staff and volunteers. Fr John Boyd-Boland has had decades of involvement with Catholic education in Queensland and was recognised in 2021 with a Spirit of Catholic Education Award.  

Although Fr John recently retired from his position at Padua College his contribution has formed a legacy that will remain. 

Fr John has committed over 30 years to Catholic education at Padua College as a Rector, teacher, and Chaplain as well as over 50 years of service to the Franciscan Friars. 

During his time as parish priest at Little Flower Parish in Kedron, he continued to work in the Padua community, and returned as Chaplain in 2007. Fr John celebrated his 50th year of ordination and service to the Franciscan Friars in 2020. 

Fr John’s achievements at Padua are many and varied. However, his work is best defined by the relationships he has built with students, parents and staff in his community and his demonstration of what it means to live the Gospel.
