Back to School 2023

Queensland Catholic school communities welcome more than 158,000 students, including around 11,500 excited Preps into the classroom this week to commence their 2023 learning journey.

Queensland Catholic Education Commission Executive Director Dr Lee-Anne Perry said it would be another exciting year for Catholic education in Queensland.

“This year we look forward to welcoming students to 312 Queensland Catholic schools.

“They will be supported by 22,000 staff and more than 12,000 teachers,” Dr Perry said.

Dr Perry said 2023 was also a very important year for around 12,000 Queensland Catholic school Year 12 students who are beginning the final stage of their school journey.

“Despite the many challenges in the last few years, I am confident school communities and students are well prepared to tackle 2023 with spirit, courage and determination.

“QCEC wishes all staff, students and families a smooth transition into Term 1 and a wonderful year of learning, growth and opportunities ahead.”
