More than 160,000 students, including around 11,800 Preps, are being welcomed into the classroom this week to commence their 2024 Queensland Catholic education journey.

Queensland Catholic Education Commission Executive Director, Allan Blagaich, said he was looking forward to seeing a number of school projects come to fruition this year.

“Queensland Catholic school students and their families will be supported by 17,900 staff and more than 11,400 teachers with lots of exciting school projects being showcased and celebratory events planned across Queensland dioceses throughout 2024.”

Mr Blagaich said 2024 was also a very important year for around 11,400 Queensland Catholic school Year 12 students who are beginning the final stage of their school journey.

Many Queensland Catholic school communities have been impacted in some way by the recent severe weather events across Queensland.  Whatever 2024 has in store for us, we are confident students in Catholic schools will be supported in their learning and nurtured in their school communities.”

“QCEC wishes all staff, students and families a smooth transition into Term 1 and a wonderful year of learning, growth and opportunities ahead.”
