EOIs for HAT and LT Assessors for 2024 Certification Process

Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible individuals are being sought to undertake training and appointment as Assessors of Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers (HAT and LT) for 2024. 

The certification of HAT and LTs is a national approach to voluntary certification based on the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST). 

The Assessor Training Program (ATP) offers participants a deeper knowledge and understanding of the APST which supports teacher efficacy and student outcomes, as well as providing nationally recognised training as an Assessor. 

Assessors complete the assessment process by reviewing the applicant’s portfolio of evidence and then by making a recommendation to the Certifying Authority (Queensland College of Teachers) on whether the applicant demonstrates the APST at the Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher career stage, in accordance with the level for which the applicant has applied.

Assessor training will be delivered by the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and includes 40-50 hours online study and assessment and two training days. Both training days are currently planned as face-to-face events in Brisbane on Monday 13 November 2023 and Monday 12 February 2024 at the Ship Inn South Brisbane.

EOI’s can be submitted online via the QCEC Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher website. The closing date for applications is 20 October 2023.
