The online forum presentation will be delivered by MinterEllison law firm and will cover the following matters:
- Regulatory Landscape: An overview of the Australian Framework for Generative AI in Schools, online safety legislation, and the Australian Government’s proposed regulatory approach for high-risk AI, including the 10 proposed guardrails, definitions of high-risk AI, and potential legislation.
- Best Practice AI Governance: An overview of the Framework, new Voluntary Standard and the benchmark for responsible AI practices for schools in Australia; practical steps for aligning with these guidelines and implications for managing legal and operational risk, particularly in relation to AI use by children and the special status of personal information of children in applicable privacy laws.
