QCEC welcomes non-state schools framework report

The Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC) welcomes the release of the final report on Queensland’s non-state schools accreditation framework.

The Queensland Government announced yesterday that it has given in-principle agreement to all 21 recommendations from the review and will start to implement priority actions immediately.

QCEC Executive Director Allan Blagaich said the independent review, conducted by Cheryl Vardon AO, examined the regulatory framework which guides non-state schools.

“The Catholic sector, as the biggest non-state schooling sector with more than 163,000 students enrolled, has been closely involved with the review process,” Mr Blagaich said.

“We look forward to reviewing the comprehensive report and its recommendations, and continuing consultation with the Government as the recommendations are implemented.

“A modern, fit-for-purpose accreditation framework for non-state schools provides assurance to educators, families and the community that our schools are delivering a quality education for all students,” Mr Blagaich said.
