Congratulations to the 31 educators who were recently announced winners of the 2023 Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) TEACHX Awards. 

The annual awards recognise the extraordinary contributions of registered Queensland teachers and leaders from all schooling sectors across six categories, in the lead up to World Teachers’ Day celebrations.

Six educators from the Queensland Catholic school sector were named among the winners for excellence in their profession. They have been listed below by category.  

Excellence in Teacher Education – inaugural award
Adjunct Professor Bruce Burnett from the Australian Catholic University

Outstanding Contribution to Teaching
Amanda Bopf from Mount Alvernia College, Kedron
Dale Morrow from St Rita’s College, Brisbane

Innovation in Teaching
Helen Weston from Loreto College, Coorparoo

Excellent Leadership in Teaching and Learning
Allison Elcoate from Trinity College, Beenleigh
Liisa Gyte from Loreto College, Coorparoo
