Regional flavour for VET Pathways Forum

In a pioneering joint effort, the Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC) and Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton have joined forces to deliver the VET in Schools Pathways Forum. This marks the first time the event has been hosted as a partnership and held in regional Queensland.

Under the theme “VET – The future is full of Queensland-wide possibilities!” the forum brings together VET practitioners, school leaders, industry partners, and policymakers to discuss the latest developments and best practices in vocational education and training in schools. The event, on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 August 2024, will be hosted in the Diocese of Rockhampton, showcasing the region’s commitment to advancing VET opportunities.

Keynote speaker Dr Susan James Relly, Professor in Vocational Education at the University of Adelaide, will share her insights and expertise with attendees. The forum program also includes a selection of industry site visits in the region, providing participants with hands-on experience and networking opportunities.

“We are thrilled to partner with Catholic Education – Diocese of Rockhampton to deliver this landmark event,” a QCEC spokesperson said. “By bringing the forum to regional Queensland, we aim to highlight the vast potential and opportunities available in VET across the state, ensuring that all students have access to diverse and rewarding career pathways.”
