Ambrose Treacy College and Brigidine College - St Vincent De Formal
Ambrose Treacy College, in partnership with Brigidine College, has developed an innovative Year 10 program that integrates faith, education, and community engagement through support of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, Edmund Rice, and Ambrose Treacy, the program combines social activities like trivia, games, and dance with practical support through SVDP pop-up shops, creating an engaging environment that promotes social awareness and community cohesion. This initiative aligns with the Queensland Catholic Education Commission’s Mission in Practice Framework’s pillars of Tradition, Purpose, Learning, and Witness, while building upon core values of compassion, justice, and love. Its success is attributed to thorough planning, enthusiastic participation, leadership development, and the cultivation of a community-minded approach, demonstrating the transformative potential of education rooted in Catholic Christian ethos and providing valuable insights for advancing Catholic education.
