Schools observe COVID precautions

Queensland Catholic schools continue to follow the health advice regarding all aspects of managing COVID-19 as the latest wave of the pandemic unfolds.

Queensland Catholic Education Commission Executive Director Dr Lee-Anne Perry said schools were now well versed in managing COVID-19 at the local level, in line with current health advice.

Dr Perry said schools would make individual decisions based on their unique circumstances.

“Throughout the pandemic, Catholic schools have closely followed the government and health advice and that is what is happening now,” Dr Perry said.

“Catholic schools will make their own decisions according to their individual circumstances, taking note of the advice around masks and social distancing.”

Dr Perry said that Catholic schools, along with the rest of the community, were feeling the impacts of the current wave of COVID-19.

“The pandemic has taught us all to be more flexible and responsive and Catholic schools are no exception.

“Schools are now well-placed to pivot to whatever forms of teaching and learning work best for the circumstances they find themselves in,” she said.
