Queensland Catholic schools will join school communities across the state to #ThankQldTeachers in celebration of World Teachers’ Day next week.
Queensland Catholic Education Commission (QCEC) Executive Director Dr Lee-Anne Perry AM said World Teachers’ Day provided a wonderful opportunity each year to celebrate and thank the more than 12,000 Queensland Catholic school teachers who support more than 155,000 students across the state.
“As schools and communities navigate the impact of COVID-19, now more than ever it is important to recognise the vital role played by teachers,” Dr Perry said.
“Teachers make a difference every day, educating and inspiring young people through their words and through their actions.
“In partnership with families and other school staff, they play a vital role in a young person’s development and help them achieve their goals.”
Dr Perry will appear in a World Teachers’ Day video to be launched via QCEC’s social media platforms next week. Stay up to date with the latest news from QCEC on our Facebook page here.
